I am an organic chemist from Austin, Texas. I became interested in amateur chemistry in 2013, and have been a moderator of the Sciencemadness Discussion Board since 2015.

I tried creating a chemistry YouTube channel, but I realized that I didn’t like making videos. Constantly thinking about camera angles, lighting, and editing actually detracted from my enjoyment of the chemistry. I salute those of you who manage to put up with all of that!

With this blog, I am able to post my results more quickly than I would if I had to make videos. This is now my primary place to publicly document my home chemistry experiments, as well as share my chemistry-related thoughts.
